I've decided that it's been long enough and I'm not going to let the terrorists....I mean internet stalkers win! Besides, I'm not as interesting as I was when someone tracked my private online life down. I just pre-ordered City of Villians through GameStop. They sent me an offer for free overnight shipping. I even went ahead and got the Collector's Edition for the extra $20.

I did not tell the wife first. Last we talked about it she said, "I'm concerned you're going to get sucked back in like you did with the other one (CoH) and not get anything done." A valid concern, but after playing in the beta a lot, I don't see myself getting as sucked in.

One thing that might save me is that I used my credit card that just gave me a $2000 credit limit (for no apparent reason) so it's not like I'm actually spending the money NOW. :p

But money's not really the point, huh?

Gotta get back to writing.

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is "Wrong"

1)Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2)Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. (I know at least a couple people who wish this were true)

3)Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4)Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5)Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage could be destroyed.

6)Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a
theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new
social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans

Whooo, what a day! :) First day of Cascadia Con and I was on my own. Lots of good pannels, not too many crowds. Saw Cheyenne, Savannah, and the Foglios, that's always a hoot.

The evening, though was the best part. The last pannel I had on the plan was a Voice Over Action Workshop. It was run by the people putting together Robotech again. The cast includes the original voice of Roy Fokker, Dan Woren, and Chase Masterson, who's best known as Leeta the Dabo girl from DS9. (HAWT!) One of the Production Assistants and the Creative Director was also there. All very nice people and really excited.

They wanted to put together a realistic "audition" and show what it's like to work as a voice actor. The plan was simple, give anyone who wanted a chance to read Rick Hunter's lines from the original script for the first episode of the 1985 series. Kevin the PA read Roy's part. Then Dan and Chase gave some feedback and direction and the person did it again. The person then gets to do it all over again and see if they improve. Great in theory but with the people there it took nearly three hours. :p

The "winner" of the audition got to read the scene again with Dan and get it videotaped to be put on their site, www.robotech.com. The person that won? A cute 9-year old girl with some pretty amazing natural talent. She read better than most of the adults. :p Pretty awesome night.

Now I'm working on an Othar Trygvassen costume (I just misspelled that but I don't care). I mean, I was talking about costumes with the Foglios and mentioned I'm going to do Oggie for Dreamcon and Phil Foglio himself said "You would make a GREAT Othar!" Which caused the rest of us to laugh because I'd talked about it with them before and Kaja admitted she always laughs when I approach their dealer room table because since we talked about it, all she can think is "Oh here comes Othar!"

For PunkJr, Windex will be in town for PAX, as you know so I'm considering a day pass or something. Have to work out what my schedule is to be sure, but we'll at least do a dinner or something. I have your cell, and my cell is functional again, if the battery is a tad bit short lived due to the washer incident.

For Mickasso, There's a tape on your desk with Sunday's Rockstar on it, but you have to go to work in order to collect. :p

For Ticky, there's a lady at work who's really close to finishing the second draft of her fantasy novel and getting and agent (the editor she's hired to do a once-over is her prefered agent's fiancee :p) All her talking about it might actually be working on my lethargy to finish more than just a short story.

I did it again. I started typing out a new short story idea that Amanda and I had talked about recently. It's the diary entries of a sidekick. I started when we got home from work (after dinner) last night and didn't go to bed until I was done, about 1am. There was a break for Rockstar INXS in there but that's about it. I even outlined it first and followed those notes as I typed it.

So it's done and it's actually in plenty of time for the CascadiaCon writer's workshop if I drop it in the mail before the end of the week. Lots of editing to be done. I haven't even done a spell check on it. :p

Friday was Tim "Clan Chief" Armstrong's bachelor party. It was an all day thing that I caught up with part way through at the shooting alley. That's right, I shot off guns. First time in my adult life. I fired a couple different 9mm's, a couple .45's and a .22. Pretty fun. Then we went out for dinner at Outback, lots of fun. We went to a pool bar and stayed there a long time. Then we finally got to the girlie bar with all of an hour left to go. I got home about 3am Saturday.

Saturday we stopped by the Lego club meeting, but it was last minute so I didn't have anything to show or draft. Then that night we went to Wendy and Terri's b-day party.

Yesterday I worked just over a half-day and then left to go to Tim and Sara's wedding at the rose garden in the zoo. That was great fun as well.

Oh and just before this over-active weekend I get told I'm anemic. Low iron. Which for a relatively healthy guy means I likely have some kind of ulcer....fun. :| So today I'm really, really, really fucking tired. I still haven't shaken off the cough from two months ago so I'll go in tomorrow for more antibiotics. I've got a specialist appt, but like most specialists he doesn't have any openings for another three weeks. Yay.

I'm supposed to be writing zombie comic strips for mickasso , but I'm not. The past couple days I was honestly sick. So sick I'm not even going to describe it all but the second half of Monday's description is "Revenge" and is preceeded by a Mexican ruler's name. Now though, I'm just not doing it. Sorry Brick. Maybe I'll do it while "working" tomorrow.

I took a "Stop Procrastination Now!" workshop through work last month. Yeah...right.

I also have a new short story idea. I should finish that for the Dreamcon20 Writer's workshop Alisa managed to cobble together. I'm glad she's around to actually get things done for this convention. Lord knows most of the con comittee needed that workshop more than I did.

Which reminds me, I need to write up a description of the Masquerade for the web site. yeah.

Rock Star INXS was good. I'm glad Tara's gone. She's great, but she's very country-rock. I couldn't stand most of what she was singing. Soooooooooo not right for INXS. Once again Ty reminded us why he shouldn't be in the bottom 3. Stupid, stupid humans. Of course, he didn't seem to be taking the strain well. Jordis got the encore, of course, and came even closer to breaking down in the middle of her song, but that's what they liked about it the night before.

Many vanilla milkshakes in the US contain neither vanilla nor milk...discuss.

I should be in bed.
